Isabella Eby is a fourth year at the University of Florida pursuing a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. With Isabella’s interest in engineering and space, she began to pursue her dreams of making an impact on the space industry to contribute to exploring the unknown.

During her time at UF, her passion of promoting STEM for minorities blossomed, primarily through her involvement within the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Through her passion and dedication in the organization, she served as the Vice President of External Affairs, organizing and leading community service, scholarship initiatives for first year students, and creating the first Regional High School Conference in SHPE. She is also heavily involved as a mentor to many new and incoming students at the University of Florida.

Isabella is also involved in research at the University of Florida simulating movement and behaviors for robotic autonomous colonies on Mars. Additionally, she participated two years in a row for the NASA Growing Beyond Earth Makers contest, designing lettuce growth chambers for astronauts to use in space to harvest produce autonomously.

Through these roles and experiences, Isabella has been able to learn and promote leadership, creativity, and mentorship to her community. She hopes to further utilize these tools in her future career in the Space industry to uplift other Hispanic women and lead others to contributing to the new frontier. As a Brooke Owen’s Fellow, Isabella is excited to continue her industry experience at Blue Origin as a Manufacturing Engineer!
