Harriet Hunt is a CRONUS Flight Controller for the International Space Station at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. In May 2022 she graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. She became interested in engineering in high school after taking a research and design class, going to an aerospace camp, and getting her first telescope. She has also been inspired by her parents, who both studied engineering back home in Australia. In her free time, Harriet loves to watch horror movies and hangout with her bird Charlie.

On campus, Harriet was an active member of the Illinois Space Society. She was involved in different roles including Engineering Council Representative, NASA Micro-g NExT Lead, and Membership Enrichment Director. Illinois Space Society has given her opportunities to test a Micrometeoroid Impact Detection and Suppression (MIDAS) tool at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory and present the device at the International Astronautical Congress in 2019. Harriet was also involved in undergraduate research and was a Teaching Assistant for two Materials Science and Engineering courses.

In the past, Harriet has worked at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center as a SLS Flight Software Test and Verification intern, at Collins Aerospace as a Software Engineering intern, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center as a Conjunction Assessment & Risk Analysis intern, and Astranis as a Mission Operations Associate Engineer. As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Harriet spent her summer interning for Northrop Grumman as a Systems Engineer.
