The Brooke Owens Fellowship is now accepting job applications for the role of Fellowship Administrator! As our only paid employee, our new Fellowship Administrator will play a major role in the continuing operations and growth of our award-winning programs, which have already helped bring nearly four hundred new women, non gender confirming, and non-binary professionals from a wide variety of disciplines and job types into the aerospace industry.

Brookies Bring Creativity to Microgravity with the Inaugural Aurelia Institute Zero-G Flight

In 2022, The Aurelia Institute offered three spots to students from the Brooke Owens Fellowship, Patti Grace Smith Fellowship, and the Matthew Isakowitz Fellowship to fly weightless with Zero-G - for free. Allysa Kazhe (BOF ‘21), Mya Guillaume (BOF ‘22, PGSF ‘21), and Amy Huynh (MIFP ‘20, BOF ‘19) were selected through a random drawing to fly with the Aurelia Institute on board a Zero G flight. They shared with us some thoughts on their weightless experience.

Morgan Irons is about to help make space-exploration history – and all she needed was a shovel and some dirt. Irons, a doctoral student in soil and crop sciences, will see the soil she scooped from a Cornell farm organic plot launch into space on the evening of Sept. 29. It will hitch a ride aboard a resupply mission bound for the International Space Station (ISS) – orbiting about 254 miles above Earth.
