Tamaira Ross
Tamaira is the chief engineer for Rapid Space Capabilities within Boeing Space and Launch. Tamaira was director of New Glenn System Definition and Design and a configuration design engineer at Blue Origin. During New Glenn development, she and her team were responsible for performing system trade studies, defining top-level interfaces between program elements, and the concept of operations. Prior to joining Blue Origin in 2015, Tamaira was a Boeing Technical Fellow in Aerospace Vehicle Design in the Advanced Space & Intelligence Systems organization of Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
Tamaira holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University. She also attended the University of Washington where she obtained a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Technology Management MBA. In addition, she is an affiliate instructor in the Industrial & Systems Engineering department at the University of Washington where she teaches a graduate class in technical leadership. She is chair of the Purdue School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Industrial Advisory Council, a member of the College of Engineering’s Cislunar Initiative Advisory Board, and is a recipient of the school’s Outstanding Aerospace Engineer award. Tamaira is Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers.
