MArissa Moehring

Marissa is currently a manager on the Materials & Processes Engineering team at Virgin Galactic. They have a close-knit team that provides support to the various programs and vehicles. They started out their career after completing their graduate work at Purdue University studying composite materials at a small OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) company as one of six engineers. There's a saying in industry about wearing many hats, which they learned quickly was very true, as they were a tool designer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, and planning engineer all in one on any given project. They developed a love for process specifications while working there, which led to their current opportunity to write material & process specifications at Virgin Galactic. Since they started at Virgin Galactic 5 years ago, they have grown into not only a people leader, but one of the main technical M&P Engineering leads as well. They are also a mother of fraternal 5.5 year-old twins.
