Jocelyn Freed is studying Materials Science Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, class of 2025. An entrepreneur by nature, Jocelyn and two of her friends developed an app designed to engage elementary school girls in STEAM pursuits using character learning, and created a nonprofit that provides funding for social justice organizations. At university, Jocelyn is active in a wide variety of organizations reflecting her broad interests. These include engineering, cultural, and art clubs, a social sorority, and cheerleading. A native of Philadelphia and an avid rower since she was 15, a perfect evening for Jocelyn is rowing a single scull down the Schuylkill River at sunset.
