University of Massachusetts Amherst, Economics and Astronomy (Space Science), ‘23
Host Institution: Voyager Space Holdings
Executive Mentor: Ashley Zauderer

Amanda is a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, double majoring in Economics and Astronomy (Space Science). Growing up, Amanda developed her passion for space through books, podcasts, TV, and academic lectures.
Since entering college, Amanda has been actively working towards a career that will allow her to merge her interests of space and economics. She is most excited by the rapid pace of technological innovation in the industry and with launching companies, and is eager to become involved in the space economy.
Much of Amanda’s experience comes from her love of community service and working with non-profit organizations. In the fall of 2020, she co-founded a virtual after school program for elementary students in an effort to help create a better sense of community during the pandemic. The program ran Monday through Thursday with the help of her town recreation department, as well as a large group of high school volunteers. At her university, Amanda is a Project Manager for the UMass branch of 180 Degrees Consulting where she leads a team of junior and senior analysts on consulting cases for non-profit clients.
As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Amanda will be interning with Voyager Space Holdings. She is beyond excited to contribute to Voyager’s mission of creating solutions for ambitious projects and undertakings in the space industry, and looks forward to all her future involvements with the Brooke Owens Fellowship.
