Yosefine Santiago-Hernandez is a Mechanical Engineering junior at the University of Puerto Rico- Mayaguez. Passionate about space, she aspires to become an engineer dedicated to innovating technology that promotes space exploration for the benefit of humanity. Throughout her academic journey, she has worked with commitment to achieve this goal, accompanied by her desire to inspire fellow Latinos and women to pursue careers in STEM. Her ultimate goal is to foster space technology innovation and STEM opportunities in Puerto Rico.
Yosefine has led impactful projects such as designing space habitats and rovers by participating in the NASA RASC-AL competition and the NASA L'Space Mission Concept Academy. She also interned at NASA Johnson Space Center, gaining expertise in spacecraft systems engineering and safety.
As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Yosefine will join Blue Origin as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern. Passionate and driven she looks forward to utilizing her skills to contribute to Blue Origin's team and to the Brooke Owens Fellowship community, helping shape the future of space exploration.
