  • Northwestern University, BS of Journalism, ‘21

  • George Washington University, MA of International Science and Technology Policy (Space Policy concentration), ‘23

Victoria Woodburn currently works as a media relations specialist for The Aerospace Corporation in Washington, DC. Additionally, she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in International Science and Technology Policy with a focus on space policy at George Washington University.

Prior to this, Victoria was a Journalism major at Northwestern University, where she graduated in March 2021. She has always had a natural curiosity for everything and decided to pursue journalism because it provides the opportunity to explore all of her interests. Throughout her undergraduate experience, Victoria participated in a variety of experiences. However, no topic has captured Victoria’s obsession in quite the way that aerospace has.

Victoria previously wrote for the American Astronautical Society’s digital publication, Space Times, where she covered a myriad of topics relevant to aerospace. She has also completed four NASA internships. The first of which was with NASA Glenn Research Center with the Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN) Internship Program (SIP) as a design and strategic communications intern. While at Glenn, she was responsible for creating a magazine that captured the projects and experiences of the students working in SIP. Additionally, she helped facilitate outreach events for visiting groups of students which drove her goal of wanting to inspire future students.

As a Brooke Owens Fellow, she worked in the newsroom at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. While at Goddard, she worked on multiple projects across the Office of Communications. Her highlights include contributing to NASA’s Curious Universe podcast, creating content for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope social media channels and leading media campaigns for high-profile events such as the Crew-1 launch and Mars Perseverance rover landing. Her initial internship through the Brooke Owens Fellowship was extended twice, resulting in a year with the Office of Communications.
