Sydney’s head has been in the clouds since she started flying planes at age 15.

Currently a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, Sydney is majoring in Systems Engineering with a concentration in robotics and a minor in math. She is a member of the UPenn Aerospace Club, working on propulsion and avionics for the AIAA Design Build Fly competition.

Sydney is very excited to be a Brooke Owens Fellow and spend the summer at Venturi Astrolab, working on the rover scheduled to land on the moon in November.

Sydney is a true STEM girl. She has experience working at Special Aerospace Services (SAS), started an all-girl robotics team at her high school (Team Lovelace), coached a Girl Scout troop in robotics, and is on the executive committee of AOE, the women in STEM sorority at UPenn.

Three random fun facts about Sydney: she knows all of the lyrics to Hamilton, she spent 17 days driving from NYC to LA with her brother when they were teenagers, she spent a summer training in kung fu at the Shaolin Temple in China.
