Supreet graduated with a B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering at San Jose State University. Born in India, Supreet is the first woman in her family to pursue an education and a career in STEM.
As a Systems Engineering intern at NASA Ames Research Center, Sue was a part of the award-winning Air Technology Demonstration 2 (ATD-2) project, and her work included: finding bugs through systems and unit testing, verification and validation of air traffic control software, participating as an air traffic controller in simulations, writing systems specifications, and conducting workflow assessments. As a NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) alumna, she also mentors community college students through and post NCAS rover competition.
At San Jose State University, Supreet was active in numerous student organizations and programs, including Engineering Leadership Pathways Scholars, the Gender Equity Center, and the Human Factors Engineering Lab. She is passionate about diversity in STEM and volunteers as a mentor through various community initiatives. Her goal is to engage and empower minorities in higher education while making space exploration and the aviation industry more inclusive.
Fluent in 4 languages, Supreet loves traveling in her free time. She is also an avid archer, painter, and art history buff.
As a Brooke Owens Fellow, she worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington D.C. and gained numerous contacts throughout the industry.
Recently Sue started an M.Sc. in Space Studies at International Space University (ISU) in France and won 2nd place in their annual rocket competition. She continues to write content on space and women in STEM.
