Sam is a sophomore studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Political Science. This summer, she will be interning on the Dragon Avionics team at SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA.
On campus, she works as a computer science TA and a member of the Electrical Engineering team of MIT FSAE Motorsports to design the first-ever drag reduction system on the team racecar.
She is also interested in in grassroots civic engagement and data-driven policymaking. Sam co-chairs MITvote (nonpartisan student voter outreach club), was a research assistant at the MIT Election Data and Science Lab, and is a social media REPRESENT ambassador at the national organization 18byVote.
In her free time, Sam loves to read, learn languages, run, nap, ride trains, enjoy the Boston snow, and rewatch Phineas and Ferb as much as she can. She’s currently fulfilling her childhood dream of building a life-sized rollercoaster on campus…it’s a lot harder than Phineas and Ferb made it look!
This summer at SpaceX, she is eager to learn about a career in avionics and firmware for cutting-edge space missions. She’s also excited to find lifelong friends in fellow Brookies at the summit and in LA!
